The new motorway connects the Southern and Southwestern motorways and will be opened in three stages between late August and December. There will be some disruption to traffic on local roads as each part opens and some detours will be in place.
The first part to open will be the SH20 southbound lanes on Sunday 29 August. Watch out for electronic signs to show you the way to go. If wet weather postpones the opening, it will take place on the next fine night during the week of Monday 30 August.

Thank you for your patience and co-operation.
