Our structure

Updated: 7 December 2009

Our business is structured to ensure we deliver on our responsibility to contribute to an affordable, integrated, safe, responsive and sustainable land transport system. Our structure recognises our key activities and reflects the importance of realising government direction in our activities and the need to work with others to achieve the best solutions for New Zealand’s land transport needs.

Our structure includes six business groups. They are:

  • The Strategy and Performance Group - works to promote government themes, objectives and strategies and supports the Board’s preparation of the National Land Transport Programme.
  • The Regional Partnerships and Planning Group - works in partnership with local government on regional planning and programming processes.
  • The Highways and Network Operations Group - responsible for building, maintaining and operating the state highway network.
  • The Access and Use Group - provides services such as driver licences and motor vehicle registration and also regulates transport operators.
  • The Organisational Support Group - ensures we have corporate strategies and policies to support strategy and organisational performance.
  • The People and Capability Group - ensures we can deliver on our goals through our people and people capability.
