The 2010 amendment to the Land Transport Rule: Operator Licensing 2007 Rule requires taxis operating in major towns and cities to have:

  • mandatory in-vehicle camera system
  • mandatory telecommunications systems to include 24-hour, seven-days-a week monitoring from a fixed location, and an emergency alert and response facility.
