Stretch of SH25 near Coromandel town to be closed on January 15

|

State Highway 25, between Coromandel town and Te Rerenga, will be closed to traffic for one night next week, when a crane will be used to lift a truck out of a crash site.

The NZ Transport Agency  says the road will be closed at 8pm on Thursday January 15, and will re-open at 6am the following day.

The closure will extend between the Tiki Road intersection at Coromandel through to the Whangapoua Road intersection at Te Rerenga, on the eastern side of the peninsula.

Residents will have access to their properties but will not be able to pass the work site, about 2km east of Coromandel town, as the crane needs to span the road to remove the truck.

The Transport Agency thanks motorists for their patience and understanding during the closure.

Update: Monday 12 January 2015, 3.40pm
This road closure has been cancelled.  The vehicle recovery team has come up with another option to recover the truck that does not require the closure of the State Highway.
