The Newmarket Connection project will see the existing Newmarket Viaduct (flyover) replaced with a wider, stronger, more sustainable new motorway bridge.

Purpose

The project enhances southbound motorway capacity over Newmarket, releasing the benefits of previous upgrades to Auckland’s central motorway junction. An urban design integrated approach also provides significant benefits for the surrounding Newmarket community.

Timeline

The Newmarket Viaduct Replacement Project will be completed in stages over 49 months. In addition to replacing the bridge, the scope incorporates realignment of the on-and off-ramps and significant urban design and landscaping initiatives around Newmarket.
