The Automobile Association and the New Zealand Transport Agency say they are disappointed with the poor results for three new utility vehicles in the latest round of crash testing by the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP).

NZ Transport Agency wishes to advise that Orams Road Bridge that crosses the Southern Motorway [SH1] in Manukau City is now closed to traffic for urgent repairs.

The NZ Transport Agency is advising that heavy vehicles will not be able to use SH36 between Tauranga and Rotorua for at least another week.
24 Sep 2009 State Highway 36 to partially reopen on Monday
The NZ Transport Agency is pleased to announce it will reopen State Highway 36 at Pyes Pa Road between Tauranga and Rotorua from Monday afternoon for restricted hours.

The NZ Transport Agency advises of the following closures for motorway improvements. Closures start at 8pm and finish at 5am, unless otherwise stated. Work delayed by bad weather will be completed at the next available date, prior to Friday 2 October.
25 Sep 2009 Changes on Mt Hobson Road
The NZ Transport Agency advises that one lane on Mt Hobson Road in Remuera will be closed for a period of up to eight weeks from Monday 28 September. During this time it will operate as a one way (north to south) road. Roadside parking will be unavailable.
24 Sep 2009 SH16 Northwestern Motorway improvements - community information days
This weekend, residents interested in planned improvements to Auckland's Northwestern Motorway (State Highway 16) are invited to attend the first of four community information days being held by the NZ Transport Agency.
24 Sep 2009 SH1 St Marks Road on-ramp closed
The NZ Transport Agency advises that the SH1 St Marks Road southbound on-ramp will be closed this weekend from 6:30am Saturday 26 until 5am Sunday 27 September. The closure is required to complete a mass concrete pour for the retaining walls on the new on-ramp. A new two-lane on-ramp will open in mid 2010.

The NZ Transport Agency today thanked the people of Bay of Plenty for getting involved in consultation on a proposal to bring forward construction of the Tauranga Eastern Link through tolling.

A new stock-truck effluent disposal facility in Wellsford - for Northland livestock transporters using State Highway 1 - was opened today by Rodney District Mayor Penny Webster and the NZ Transport Agency's Regional Director for Auckland and Northland, Wayne McDonald.

The SH1 St Marks southbound on-ramp will be closed this weekend from 6:30am on Saturday until 5am on Sunday. The same closure will also be in place on the following weekend, Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September.

Long-planned improvements to Auckland's Northwestern Motorway (SH16) have moved a step closer today with the NZ Transport Agency announcing plans to widen the route.

11 Sep 2009 State Highway 36 Reopening Delayed
The NZ Transport Agency advises that State Highway 36 between Tauranga and Rotorua will remain closed for up to another two weeks to enable safety works to be completed in the Mangorewa/Kaharoa Gorge, where a rock fall occurred on August 6.
11 Sep 2009 NZTA confirms route for Western Ring Route completion
The NZ Transport Agency Board has confirmed the combined surface/tunnel alignment for the Waterview Connection project that will complete the Western Ring Route around Auckland. The alignment is the same as that selected by the board in May this year as its preferred option.
