SH94 Milford Road is now closed

Transit New Zealand advises the public that Milford Road on State Highway 94 is now closed due to a rock slip and forecasted snow storm later in the evening.
'We are now clearing the rock slip at Falls Creek before the snow starts falling,' Transit regional networks operations manager Murray Clarke says.
'In recognition of the expected closure, we have cleared the slip to a temporary one lane to give people in Milford the opportunity to get back to Te Anau.'
Due to extreme weather conditions forecasted for tonight, it is very likely that the road will remain closed tomorrow as well.
