Landscape design

Updated: 10 November 2011

Design consultancy, Boffa Miskell, developed the concept for the landscape design for the Kamo Bypass. The incorporation of moving from rural into urban residential helped integrate this landscape.

Native wetland planting.

At the south you will see the ‘Southern Gateway’ which is framed by two stormwater ponds on either side of the road. This area includes a number of native wetland planting and a row of cabbage trees to border the entrance.

The ‘Northern Gateway’ is formed by a large grove of cabbage trees either side of the road and a formal avenue of native trees which helps to give the appearance of an urban setting and therefore slow traffic down.

Through-out the rest of the bypass the planting will be bold colours of mainly flaxes and grasses.
