F12.3 Activity class 16: National education and promotion
About activity class 16
This activity class covers land transport education and promotion activities managed nationally by the NZTA.
These activities are required to be shown in the NLTP.
Legislation: LTMA s19C(f)(ii).
Definition: work category 812
National education and promotion programmes
This work category provides for nationally managed education and promotion activities.
The NZTA manages these activities and purchases services from external providers.
Examples of qualifying activities
Examples of qualifying activities include:
- nationally managed school-based education on land transport issues
- national advertising on land transport related issues
- national promotion of walking and cycling and other land transport related issues
- national provision of information and education for drivers, transport operators, vehicles, approved organisations and others to promote safe and sustainable use of land transport networks and services.
Exclusions
This work category excludes:
- education and promotion activities managed and delivered at the local level - these are included in the community programmes work category
- assistance and advice to approved organisations - this is funded under work category 911: programme management.
