F5.6 W/C 515: Passenger rail services
Definition: work cateogry 515
Passenger rail services
This work category provides for contracted passenger services undertaken by rail that are:
- directly part of the service-level provision agreed between the NZTA and each regional authority
- consistent with the region's passenger transport plan.
Examples of qualifying activities
Examples of qualifying activities include:
- upgrade of existing services
- increased service levels:
- frequency of service
- comfort or accessibility
- provision of cycle and pram facilities on trains
- provision for people with disabilities
- security systems (related specifically to on-train operations only)
- new services.
Exclusions: work category 515
This work category excludes off-vehicle operational activities and electronic ticketing. These are included in work category 514: passenger transport facilities operations and maintenance.
