Definition: work category 321
New traffic management facilities
This work category provides for new facilities and equipment that assist with the management of the road network.
Examples of qualifying activities
Examples of qualifying activities include:
- traffic signals
- advanced traffic management systems (ATMS)
- variable message signs (VMS)
- area-wide traffic control systems
- local area traffic management schemes (LATMS), including speed control devices and threshold treatments
- ramp metering
- surveillance devices
- traffic monitoring equipment, such as closed-circuit television systems
- weighing facilities owned by a road controlling authority (RCA) and/or operated as a weight surveillance facility
- stock-truck effluent disposal facilities.
