Maintenance activities are those which repair and renew state highway infrastructure cost effectively so that customer service levels are maintained. This includes the repair and renewal of state highway infrastructure and cyclic and periodic activities that maintain service levels. It relates to all infrastructure including intelligent transportation systems, all road structures, pavements, pavement surfacing, safety infrastructure such as barriers, road marking, drainage systems, signage and rest areas.
