Getting to Hamilton

Air

Hamilton International Airport (external link) hosts a range of domestic services through Air New Zealand and Sun Air (external links). The airport is located 14km south of the entral city. Rental car agencies can be found on the ground floor of the terminal and shuttles and taxis are located directly outside the terminal. A public car park accommodates short and long term parking.

Rail

You can travel to Hamilton via the Overlander rail service (external link), a daily service between Auckland and Wellington. The train will bring you to Hamilton Station close to the city centre.

Road

Hamilton is a 1.5 hour, 125km drive south of Auckland and an 8.5 hour, 532km drive to Wellington. Find out more travel times and distances from Hamilton.
