Personalised plates can:
- be made up of letters, numbers or a combination of both
- include captions, messages or slogans.
Only personalised plates approved by NZ Transport Agency are legal. Using unauthorised plates, eg those sourced from an overseas website, carries an infringement of $200 for an individual and $1000 for a body corporate.
