About the project 

This safety improvement project aims to help reduce deaths and serious injuries on a popular tourist route. The project will see sections of wire rope side barrier installed where there is a high risk of run-off-road crashes, improved signage and road markings as well as shoulder widening in some areas. Construction will start in April 2016 and is expected to be completed by June 2016. The project is expected to cost $1.8 million.

Purpose

To reduce the risk of run-off-road crashes on this section of road.
