Holidays Act payroll remediation for former employees

Our processes for payroll remediation

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency has become aware, along with other government agencies and crown entities, that our payroll systems and processes may have led to miscalculated pay entitlements for some people, under the Holidays Act 2003 (the Act).

The final calculations and checking are complete, and we are in the process of contacting all affected former employees to advise of any amount they are owed.

The remediation period covered is between 17 March 2011 and 10 June 2020.

Not everyone employed over that time will have been affected. The issues largely related to employees who had fluctuating work patterns, worked additional hours or received some additional allowances.
