Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is closing the Haast Pass overnight this Monday 31 January 2022 in order for contractors to complete work on the UFB Southern Fibre Link Project.
State Highway 36 will be closed between Hamurana and Oropi Gorge Road tonight, Wednesday 26 January while Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency contractors undertake road repair works and vehicle recovery.
Unfavourable weather has led to a need to extend the timeframe for the resurfacing works on State Highway 2 Takitimu Drive under the Waihī Road overbridge.

People travelling on State Highway 2 between Awakeri and Tāneatua from Monday 24 January to Friday 28 January 2022 are asked to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys, due to maintenance works on the Pekatahi Bridge.
