More progress is being made on making State Highway 2 a safer route for Wellington drivers, with a permanent barrier to be built at the old Cornish Street access in Petone.
Masterton residents and regular travellers through the Wairarapa town need to be ready for rehabilitation works on State Highway 2, Chapel St, which are due to start this weekend.
Essential maintenance work will be underway on State Highway 2 between Wellington and Petone next week, with the Ngauranga offramp to be closed for essential maintenance.
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) is advising motorists that the Churton Park southbound off-ramp on the Wellington urban motorway will be closed between 9pm tonight (Thursday 18 April) and 4.30am tomorrow (Friday 19 April) for essential resurfacing work.
There has been a scheduling change for these works. This work will now be done on the night of Thursday, 18 April – not Wednesday, 17 April as previously indicated.
With major repairs continuing on the Tauwharenīkau Bridge, Wairarapa drivers need to be ready for road closures and detours on State Highway 53 over the coming weeks.
