Wandering stock – both sheep and cattle – continue to create a road hazard for drivers on West Coast and Buller highways. In each of the past two years, there have been more than 70 reports of stock on the region’s state highways.
The Mackays to Peka Peka (M2PP) Alliance is teaming up with the Kāpiti Coast District Council to sponsor and carry out an upgrade of the Makarini Community Reserve in Paraparaumu. The Makarini Reserve backs onto the new M2PP expressway and the upgrade initiative is in response to a survey of residents by the Makarini Reference Group.
A group of nine Māori from the Kāpiti Coast are entering into exciting career prospects on the Mackays to Peka Peka (M2PP) Expressway project, thanks to a successful employment partnership between the project’s main landscaping subcontractor Natural Habitats, and local iwi Te Atiawa ki Whakarongotai.
The NZ Transport Agency advises of the following closures for motorway improvements. Closures start at 9pm and finish at 5am, unless otherwise stated.
