Atiamuri Bridge closure on Saturday 16 August

|

The NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) advises that Atiamuri Bridge, between Taupo and Tokoroa on State Highway 1, will be closed for repairs from 7.30am to 5pm on Saturday 16 August.

The NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) advises that Atiamuri Bridge, between Taupo and Tokoroa on State Highway 1, will be closed for repairs from 7.30am to 5pm on Saturday 16 August.

A clearly signposted detour will be in place via SH30 over the single lane Waikato River Bridge on Tram Road and back up Tirohanga Road to SH1.

NZTA Acting Regional Operations Manager, Alan Burkett, says the detour is likely to add an extra fifteen to twenty minutes to the normal travelling time through the Atiamuri Bridge area of State Highway 1 and he encourages motorists to allow for the additional time.

This work is weather-dependant and may be postponed to the next fine Saturday if weather prevents the planned works to be carried out as programmed.
