Auckland Harbour Bridge - lane and on-ramp closures this
Labour Weekend

|

Curran Street on-ramp and the two northbound clip-on lanes will be closed from approximately 7pm on Saturday 25 until 10am Monday 27 October and again, from approximately 10pm Monday night until 5.30am Tuesday 28 October.

Curran Street on-ramp and the two northbound clip-on lanes will be closed from approximately 7pm on Saturday 25 until 10am Monday 27 October and again, from approximately 10pm Monday night until 5.30am Tuesday 28 October.

The closures will allow strengthening works to the bridge’s northbound box girder (‘clip-on’) to continue.

Acting regional manager Tommy Parker says, “The closures have been timed to take advantage of lighter traffic flow and to avoid peak holiday traffic in Auckland over the long weekend.”

All vehicles should use Fanshawe Street or Wellington Street on-ramps instead of Curran Street on-ramp.

The NZ Transport Agency thanks you for your co-operation during these essential improvements.

Background

The strengthening project will take approximately two-and-a-half years to complete. Teams will work around the clock as required to complete the project. Work started in August 2008 on the three furthest northern spans, and will continue until approximately March 2009.  Strengthening will then begin on the southbound side.
