Auckland overnight motorway closures

The NZ Transport Agency advises of the following closures for motorway improvements and maintenance. Closures start at 9pm and finish at 5am, unless otherwise stated. Work delayed by bad weather will be completed on or before the contingency date.

Northern Motorway (SH1)

  • Southbound lanes between Esmonde Road off-ramp and Onewa Road on-ramp closed from 29 to 30 October
  • Esmonde Road southbound on-ramp closed from 29 to 30 October
  • Northbound lanes between Onewa Road off-ramp and Onewa Road on-ramp closed from 29 to 30 October

Contingency: 2 November

  • Tristram Avenue northbound off-ramp closed 29 October
  • Northbound lanes between Northcote Road on-ramp and Tristram Avenue on-ramp closed from 29 – 30 October

Contingency: 20 November

Auckland Harbour Bridge (SH1)

  • Curran Street on-ramp and Auckland Harbour Bridge lanes one and two northbound closed 1 November (approx. 7pm – 9am)

Southern Motorway (SH1)

  • Razorback Road northbound on-ramp closed 29 October
  • Hill Road southbound off-ramp closed 30 October

Contingency: 6 November

Northwestern Motorway (SH16)

  • Great North Road eastbound on-ramp closed from 29 October to 1 November

Contingency: 20 November

  • Northbound lanes between Takanini off-ramp and Redoubt Road on-ramp closed 22 October

Contingency: 13 November

Southwestern Motorway (SH20)

  • Coronation Road northbound on-ramp closed from 29 October to 1 November
  • Mahunga Drive southbound off-ramp closed from 29 October to 1 November
  • Massey Road southbound on and off-ramps closed 29 October

Contingency: 6 November

Local roads

  • Rimu Road, Mangere Bridge westbound between Miro Road and Coronation Road closed from 29 October to 1 November

Contingency: 3 November
