Auckland overnight motorway closures

The NZ Transport Agency advises of the following closures for motorway improvements and maintenance. Closures start at 9pm and finish at 5am, unless otherwise stated. Work delayed by bad weather will be completed on or before the contingency date.

Northern motorway (SH1)

  • Southbound motorway lanes between Esmonde Road off-ramp and Onewa Road on-ramp 10 December

Contingency: 11 December

  • Onewa Road northbound on and off-ramps 10 – 11 December

Contingency: 14 December

  • Northcote Road northbound on-ramp 11 December
  • Silverdale southbound on-ramp 11 December
  • Southbound motorway lanes between Silverdale off-ramp and Oteha Valley Road on-ramp 10 – 11 December

Contingency: 23 December

Auckland Harbour Bridge (SH1)

  • Curran Street on-ramp and Auckland Harbour Bridge lanes one and two northbound 10 – 11 December (approx. 7pm – 5.30am)

Southern Motorway (SH1)

  • Wellington Street northbound on-ramp 11 December
  • Hobson Street southbound on-ramp 10 December

Contingency: 14 December

Central Motorway Junction

  • Port to SH1 link northbound 10 – 11 December
  • Wellesley Street northbound off-ramp 10 – 11 December
  • Northbound motorway lanes between Symonds Street/Port/Wellesley Street off-ramp and Port to SH1 link northbound on-ramp 10 December

Contingency: 14 December

State Highway 16 and 18

  • All lanes between Royal Road, Oreil Avenue and Don Buck Road 10 – 11 December

Contingency: 18 December

Southwestern Motorway (SH20)

  • Coronation Road northbound on-ramp 10 – 13 December (7.30pm – 5am)
  • All motorway lanes between Rimu Road on-ramp and Walmsley Road off-ramp 10 – 13 December (7.30pm – 5am)

Contingency: 14 December
