Care needed at NZTAs Northland work sites

|

The NZ Transport Agency reminds road users that upgrades continue on several sections of the state highway network in Northland.

The NZTA says drivers will need to be aware of some changes in highway layouts at those sites, and observe restricted speed limits for the safety of themselves and their passengers, and contractors delivering the improvements. The sites are:-

State Highway 1

  • Whangarei: Improvements through the city from SH1/SH14 intersection to SH1/Selwyn Avenue
  • Moerewa: construction of traffic islands
  • Waitiki Landing-Ohaeawai and Ohaeawai-Springs Flat: road marking
  • Te Ahu Ahu Road, Ohaeawai: safety upgrade
  • McLeods Flat:  guardrail improvements
  • Water cutting at various sites

State Highway 10

  • Pakaraka-Awanui: road marking

State Highway 11

  • Lily Pond: guardrail repairs

State Highway 12

  • Maungaturoto township: repairs and improvements continue
  • Rotu Bridge, north of Dargaville:  guardrail improvements
  • Water cutting at various sites

State Highway 14

  • Mangarama: safety works at Paradise Rd
  • Tangowahine Bridge: safety-related work

The NZTA thanks drivers for their co-operation while these improvements and maintenance projects are being completed. People can ring 0800 111 655 for more information
