Crash closes key link to Auckland Airport

The NZ Transport Agency says the southbound Neilson Street onramp to Auckland’s Southwestern Motorway (State Highway 20) at Onehunga is closed after a rubbish truck trailer overturned.

The on-ramp is a key link to Auckland International Airport.

The Transport Agency says traffic wanting to join the motorway is being diverted to the on-ramp at Queenstown Road in Onehunga.   It advises people heading to the airport to allow more time
for their journey.

The overturned trailer has spilled debris and the Transport Agency anticipates it will be some time before the Neilson Street on-ramp is cleared and re-opened.
