Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is advising road users of delays this week on State Highway 2 at Tarewa, two kilometres south of the Puninga Road and Wharerata Road intersection.

Work will be underway from today, Tuesday 19 November, to reseal a one kilometre section of the highway.

A temporary speed restriction of 30 kilometres per hour has been in place for some time, and will remain in place on Tuesday 19 November and Wednesday 20 November while the work is underway.

Following the resealing work, on Thursday 21 November the temporary speed limit will increase to 50 kilometres per hour. By Friday 22 November, it is expected that the 100 kilometres per hour limit will be reinstated.

Traffic management will also be in place.

Road users are advised to adhere to the temporary speed limits and take extra care when travelling through the section of road.

The Transport Agency thanks road users for their patience and understanding.

Plan ahead for a safe, enjoyable journey. Keep up to date with:
