Emergency closure on Remutaka Hill Road tonight

|

The NZ Transport Agency is advising that Remutaka Hill Road will be closed from midnight tonight, Wednesday 9 October, to approximately 5.30am tomorrow, Thursday 10 October to recover a truck.

A crane and heavy vehicle tow truck will be on the road during the recovery of the truck which crashed on the Upper Hutt side of the road on Tuesday night.

There will not be any access to Remutaka Hill Road while the recovery operation is underway so road users are advised to plan ahead.

There may be times when vehicles can be escorted over Remutaka Hill Road or when stop/go traffic control can be used to enable vehicles to get through. Traffic supervisors at the closure points will able to advise road users.

Plan ahead for a safe, enjoyable journey. Keep up to date with:
