Expect short delays on SH2 Raupunga due to resilience work

|

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is advising motorists to expect some delays on State Highway 2 at Raupunga from Thursday 11 November as resilience work nears completion.

On Thursday, crews will start work to move traffic onto the new 600-metre section of the road away from a bluff, which will make the state highway more resilient.

While the work is underway between 6am and 6pm on weekdays, stop/go traffic management and a temporary speed restriction of 30km/h will be in place. Motorists should plan ahead for up to five minute delays.

Outside these hours, both lanes of the road will remain open under a 50km/h speed limit.

Waka Kotahi is advising motorists to adhere to the temporary speed restriction when travelling through the worksite, for the safety of everyone on the road including workers.

The work is expected to take three weeks to complete, depending on weather.

Plan ahead for a safe, enjoyable journey. Keep up to date with:
