Maintenance and vehicle recovery carried out on SH25 and SH25A next week

|

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises there will be multiple worksites across the Coromandel and East Waikato next week as part of routine maintenance.

Site locations include:

  • SH25 at Waitakaruru, delays of up to 5 minutes for general maintenance. Work will be carried out between 6am and 5pm with a temporary speed limit of 30km/h in place during work.
  • SH25 at Morrison Road, Tairua, delays of up to 5 minutes for asphalt resurfacing. Work will be carried out under stop/go with a temporary speed limit of 50km/h in place during work.
  • SH25A (Kopu-Hikuai Road) closed for several hours on Monday for vehicle recovery. Follow sign posted detours.
  • SH25A at Hikuai summit, a shoulder closure with Stop/Go in place may cause delays of between 5 and 10 minutes. Work will be carried out between 6am and 5pm with a temporary speed limit of 30km/h in place during work.

16 July 2021 media release: SH25A closed for vehicle recovery on Monday

Contractors will monitor traffic flow and will work to minimise the impact of the works where possible, but motorists should expect minor delays when work is taking place. Outside work hours the road will operate as normal.

This work is part of the Waka Kotahi preventative maintenance programme to keep roads in a safe condition during the harsher winter months.

In the event of bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances, work may be postponed. Our contractors also carry out emergency works at short notice, for example slip repairs. We advise motorists to plan their journey before heading out to find out the latest information about delays or closures using the Journey Planner tool.
