Mohaka Bridge lane restrictions in place

|

The NZ Transport Agency is advising motorists using SH5 between Napier and Taupo to expect delays of up to ten minutes to accommodate strengthening work on the Mohaka Bridge beginning today (February 25).

NZTA’s Acting State Highways Manager Gordon Hart said in order to manage loading on the bridge while the work is carried out it was necessary to restrict traffic to a single lane.

Temporary signals had been installed to manage traffic flows while the work is carried out. The work was expected to take two months to complete.

Mr Hart said the NZTA apologised for any inconvenience caused by the delays, and thanked motorists for their patience while these essential works are carried out.
