Motueka High Street feedback generates good public engagement

|

Earlier in June and July, the NZ Transport Agency invited members of the public to have their say on short to medium term road improvements to High Street, Motueka, in Tasman District, to make it safer for everyone and improve traffic flows.

The Transport Agency's Transport System Manager Frank Porter says the engagement period was very successful.

“During the four week engagement period, more than 130 people attended the events at the Motueka Market and the Open Day at the Motueka Service Centre. There were 254 submissions received through the website, email and on paper.

“We’re really happy with the attendance and feedback from the community.

Hearing from local people and business owners is very important to the success of projects like this one and I want to thank everyone who contributed,” he says.

“All these valuable insights are now being brought together. We will come back and share the results of this engagement later this year.”

He encourages people to visit the website www.nzta.govt.nz/motueka(external link) to read more about the project and subscribe for updates as this project progresses.
