Auckland overnight motorway closures 14 –18 March

The NZ Transport Agency advises of the following closures for motorway improvements. Closures start at 8pm and finish at 5am, unless otherwise stated. Work delayed by bad weather will be completed at the next available date, prior to Friday 19 March.

NORTHERN MOTORWAY (SH1)

  • Silverdale northbound off ramp 16 March
  • BP Service Centre on and off ramps 17 March (approx 11.30pm – 3am)
  • Southbound lanes between Upper Harbour Highway off ramp and Tristram Avenue on ramp 14 - 16 March
  • Southbound lanes between Esmonde Road off ramp and Onewa Road on ramp 17 – 18 March
  • Northbound lanes between Onewa Road off ramp and on ramp 14 – 15 March
  • Onewa Road southbound on ramp 16 March (approx 9pm – 1am)
  • Onewa Road northbound on ramp 16 March (approx 1am – 5am)
  • Onewa Road northbound off ramp 16 March (approx 1am – 5am)

AUCKLAND HARBOUR BRIDGE (SH1)

  • Shelly Beach Road off ramp and Auckland Harbour Bridge southbound lanes one and two 14 - 18 March (approx 7.30pm - 5.30am)

CENTRAL MOTORWAY JUNCTION (CMJ)

  • Northbound lanes between Nelson Street off ramp and Fanshawe Street on ramp 14 – 18 March (approx 11pm – 5am)
  • Wellington Street northbound on ramp 14 – 18 March (approx 10pm – 5am)
  • SH16 eastbound to SH1 northbound link 14 – 18
  • SH16 port to SH1 north link 14 – 18 March

SOUTHERN MOTORWAY (SH1)

  • Gillies Avenue southbound off ramp 14 - 18 March (approx 10pm – 5am) 
  • Market Road southbound off ramp 17 – 18 March
  • Southbound lanes between Mt Wellington Highway off ramp and on ramp 17 – 18 March (approx 11pm – 5am)
  • Northbound lanes between Princes Street off ramp and on ramp 14 – 18 March
  • Northbound lanes between Mt Wellington Highway off ramp and on ramp 14 – 16 March
  • Princes Street southbound off ramp 16 March
  • Highbrook southbound off ramp 15 March
  • Southbound lanes between East Tamaki off ramp and on ramp 14 – 18 March
  • Northbound traffic will be diverted into the southbound fast lane between Nikau Road and Bombay 14 - 15 March
  • Beaver Road northbound off ramp 14 – 15 March
  • Beaver Road northbound on ramp 14 – 15 March
  • Nikau Road northbound on ramp 14 – 15 March
  • Northbound lanes between Pokeno off ramp and Nikau Road on ramp 18 March

NORTH WESTERN MOTORWAY (SH16)

  • Great North Road westbound on ramp 16 March
  • Eastbound lanes between Patiki Road off ramp and Rosebank Road on ramp 17 March
  • Westbound lanes between Lincoln Road off ramp and Royal Road 18 March
  • Te Atatu westbound on ramp 14 March
  • Lincoln Road westbound on ramp 18 March
  • Royal Road eastbound on ramp 15 March

SOUTH WESTERN MOTORWAY (SH20)

  • Southbound lanes between Hillsborough Road off ramp and Neilson Street on ramp 17 – 18 March
  • Full closure northbound and southbound between Neilson Street and Hillsborough Road 16 – 18 March (Only if Neilson Street on and off ramp closures do not occur)
  • Queenstown Road northbound off ramp 14 - 15 March
  • Neilson Street southbound on ramp 17 - 18 March

(Only if Hillsborough Road to Neilson Street closure does not occur)

  • Neilson Street northbound on ramp 14 - 18 March
  • Neilson Street northbound off ramp 14 - 18 March
  • Northbound lanes between Neilson Street off ramp and Hillsborough Road on ramp 14 March (Only if Neilson Street on and off ramp closures do not occur)
  • Southbound lanes between Mahunga Drive off ramp to Walmsley Road on ramp 15 March
  • Walmsley Road southbound off ramp 16 March
  • Massey Road northbound off ramp 14 March
  • Massey Road northbound on ramp 15 March
