Papakura southbound on and off-ramp closure Queens Birthday weekend

|

HEB Construction, on behalf of the NZ Transport Agency, will be temporarily closing the Papakura southbound on and off-ramp onto the Southern Motorway (SH1) over Queen's Birthday weekend, weather permitting.

The closure will be in place from 10pm Friday, 31 May until 5am Tuesday, 4 June. This will allow the team to complete final and necessary work and switch traffic onto the newly completed overbridge at Beach Road.

For drivers wanting to access SH1 southbound, a detour route will be clearly signposted along Beach Road and Great South Road to the SH1 Drury southbound on-ramp. For drivers wanting to get to Papakura and Karaka, exit the motorway at Takanini.

There will also be advertisements in the local papers and on the radio prior to the closure.

All construction work is weather dependant, however we aim to complete the work and reopen the ramps as soon as possible. We are taking advantage of the long weekend when traffic volumes are traditionally lower to minimise disruption to motorists and the local community.

During this time it is best that you do allow more time for your travel to ensure you get to your destination on time and safely.  All work is weather dependant however we will aim to complete it as soon as possible.

We appreciate your ongoing support and patience while we get on with the upgrade of the Papakura interchange.

The project is due for completion by the end of this year.
