Resurfacing works on the way for State Highway 58, Whitby

Regular users of State Highway 58 between Porirua and Pāuatahanui need to be ready for roadworks that could affect their travel next week.

Contractors will be carrying out resurfacing work on SH58, Paremata Road between 19 and 23 March. It will see asphalt replaced at various sections on the route.

The work is part of planned maintenance to ensure the highway is kept safe for all road users. It has been timed to happen at night to minimise disruption for road users.

The detours will create minor travel delays and road users should factor this into their travel plans. Waka Kotahi wants to thank drivers for their patience and understanding while this work is completed.

Works schedule and closures

• Shift 1 to 3 - Sunday to Tuesday nights, 19-21 March – 9 pm-4.30 am
  • Road closed between Postgate Drive and James Cook Drive, detour via local roads

• Shift 4 - Wednesday night, 22 March – 9 pm-4.30 am
  • Road closed between State Highway 59 and Postgate Drive, detour via local roads

• Shift 5 - Thursday night, 23 March – 7 pm-5.30 am
  • Stop/go traffic control at the Pāuatahanui roundabout
