Rock repair underway on SH25 near Tapu

|

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises that rock repair work is underway on State Highway 25, 1km south of Tapu.

The work will take place between 7am and 5pm daily until Wednesday 23 June, subject to weather. Stop/Go traffic management with a 30km/h speed limit will be in place and two-way traffic flow will be reinstated at the end of each working shift.

The rock repair work is taking place on the beach side of the highway, so Higgins contractors have consulted with the Department of Conservation about the nesting shags and kaimoana in the working area. A process has been put in place to preserve and protect the area and the sea and bird life.

Waka Kotahi thanks motorists and residents for their patience while we carry out this important work.

Plan ahead for a safe, enjoyable journey this summer. Keep up to date with:
