State Highway One at Bulli Point south of Taupo has now reopened to traffic.
NZ Transport Agency Highway (NZTA) Network Operations Manager, Karen Boyt, says the NZTA would like to thank motorists for planning their journeys around this closure, which was required to safely remove a truck that had rolled off the highway earlier in the week.
“We apologise for the inconvenience caused to motorists and we thank them for their patience and understanding around this operation.”
“As we head into a busy holiday weekend on our roads, I’d also like to take this opportunity to remind people to make the most of our free highway information services available by phone or online. It’s a very useful way to plan your journey before you leave home.”
NZTA's freephone 08004 HIGHWAYS or 0800 44 44 49, or the NZTA website www.highwayinfo.govt.nz(external link) for up-to-the-minute info on road conditions.
