SH35 Maraenui Hill CLOSED due to slip

The NZ Transport Agency advises motorists that State Highway 35 at Maraenui Hill - between Opotiki and the East Cape - is CLOSED due to a slip.

The contractors have done a great job and have managed to open up one lane. Stop/ go traffic management and speed restrictions are in place.

There is no detour and motorists are urged to delay travel in the area.

Contractors are onsite working to clear the slip and re-open the road to one lane however the work is expected to take approximately three hours.
