The crash scene has been cleared and the road is fully open in both directions.
Waka Kotahi wants to thank drivers for their patience and understanding while our contractors worked to reopen the highway.
The highway is now open, but under stop/go traffic management.
Road users can continue to expect travel delays and temporary closures are possible as the crashed truck is recovered and removed.
Updates on the highway’s status can be found on the Waka Kotahi website:

State Highway 6 is currently closed at Kaituna, north of Mathers Road, as emergency services and roading contractors attend a truck crash.
The incident, which has seen a logging truck roll, was reported just after 12.30 this afternoon. Emergency services and Waka Kotahi contractors are attending.
Logs are on the road and need to be removed.
Drivers should avoid the area or delay their travel. No local road detours are available, and drivers travelling between Blenheim and Nelson can expect delays until the crash site is cleared.
