Tairāwhiti/Hawke’s Bay roading update

Please drive to the conditions and be careful while driving around the regions, following heavy rainfall overnight and this morning.

“The rain is falling on already sodden roading and soil, so please, if you’re driving, expect the potential for delays to your travel or surface flooding or more debris,” says Waka Kotahi’s Hawke’s Bay/Gisborne system manager Martin Colditz.

“Roading contractors will also continue to assess these roads today for any new damage.

“Please continue to avoid all unnecessary travel.”
