Upcoming overnight closures on SH25 between Whitianga and Kuaotunu

|

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises motorists travelling on SH25 between Whitianga and Kuaotunu that the road will be closed overnight between 8pm and 5am this coming Thursday, Friday and Sunday nights as works to repair a major slip continue.

Works have been underway on the repair site during November and December, and have now progressed to the point that the drilling and installation of the piles is taking place. This requires a portion of the works to take place at night, with the road closed to traffic.

Acting Waikato Transport System Manager Rob Campbell says the Transport Agency recognises there will be some inconvenience to motorists but has made the decision to undertake the overnight closures to ensure the road is ready for road users ahead of the busy holiday break.

“All work is expected to be complete on or before Monday 23 December, before the influx of holiday visitors to the Coromandel.”

During the day there will continue to be periods of Stop / Stop traffic control while other work continues on site and delays of up to 30 minutes are possible.

The Transport Agency thanks motorists for their patience.

Plan ahead for a safe, enjoyable journey this summer. Keep up to date with:
