The details below outline the main planned state highway roadworks occurring in the region over the coming week (9 October 2022).

State Highway 1 

Wellington, Monthly Tunnel Maintenance Closures, 9pm-5.30am

• Terrace Tunnel - Monday night
• Mt Victoria Tunnel - Tuesday night
• Arras Tunnel – Wednesday night
• Traffic use alternative routes

Wellington, Vivian Street between Taranaki Street and Kent Terrace

• Sunday to Thursday nights, 7pm-5.30am
• Southbound one lane closed for path upgrades

Between Tawa and Glenside/Churton Park interchanges

• Thursday night, 7pm-5.30am
• One lane closed each direction for vegetation control

Between Te Horo and North of Ōtaki

• Stop/go traffic control at night and altered lane layouts during the day for project works

State Highway 59         

Between Porirua and Transmission Gully Motorway interchange

• Southbound one lane closed day/night during the week for project works

Porirua, near Whitford Brown Avenue intersection

• Monday to Friday during the day, 8am-4pm
• Southbound one lane closed for barrier installation

State Highway 2

Remutaka Hill CLOSED 2 nights

• Sunday and Monday nights, 9pm-4am

Closed for essential maintenance

Lower Hutt, south of Haywards interchange

• Tuesday night, 7pm-5.30pm
• Northbound one lane closed for asphalt resurfacing

Lower Hutt, north and south of Kennedy Good Bridge intersection

• Sunday to Thursday nights, 7pm-5.30pm

One lane closed each direction for traffic signal upgrades

State Highway 58

Haywards Hill to Pauatahanui

• Tuesday to Friday during the day, 9am-3pm
• Stop/go traffic control for project works
