Works on SH1 south of Hamilton next week

|

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises State Highway 1 will be down to one lane immediately north of the Peake Road overbridge on 19 and 20 May to examine the performance of the road surface and supporting layers underneath.

Works will take place between 7am and 6pm on a 1.5km section of the northbound lanes.

One lane will be open at all times, with a 70km/h temporary speed limit in place.

These works will help Waka Kotahi to check the road is performing as expected, heading into winter.

Work is weather dependent and will be carried out on the next suitable day/s in the event of poor weather.

At Alert Level 2, significantly more people will be using their cars and public transport And motorists are advised to expect delays. It’s important to plan ahead, allow more time, and avoid travelling at peak periods.

Remember to be kind to others, as we all get used to travelling at Alert Level 2.
