People travelling through the Baypark to Bayfair area are being asked to slow down and take extra care in the lead up to Christmas with road closures and detours in place to allow crews to start applying the final, smooth layer of road surface.
Protest activity is impacting on the state highway network around Auckland and the Waikato this morning. The NZ Transport Agency, Waka Kotahi advises road users to expect delays, especially on State Highway 1 south of Aukland where protest action stopped traffic in both directions at Rangiriri earlier this morning.
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency says that favourable weather forecast from Tuesday (5 December) on the Arthur’s Pass/ Otira gorge alpine route means that resurfacing will begin after 10 am with a full highway closure to 6 pm.
Road users can expect delays if they’re travelling on State Highway 58 this Friday night, and Friday night the following week, as a section of the highway is having its final road surface laid between Transmission Gully and Bradey Road
