The NZ Transport Agency has completed an assessment of the Katikati town centre and has concluded that a bypass will be added to the State Highway 2 Waihi to Tauranga programme.
From Tuesday night, 14 March, rumble strip is being installed along the centreline of State Highway 6, between Kawatiri Junction and O’Sullivans Junction, part of the new alternate highway between Picton and Christchurch.
State Highway 1 has been closed all this weekend south of Kaikoura between Peketa/ the Kahutara River and Goose Bay due to fresh slips triggered by rainfall in several places. It is likely to be closed Monday, 13 March as well.
The NZ Transport Agency is advising motorists to expect delays if they’re travelling through the Kamo Bypass, Whangarei from this evening (Monday 13 March) through to Thursday 16 March.
Road users are being asked to abide by all speed limits and take extra care while maintenance work is carried out on the Omanawa River Bridge on State Highway 29.
The NZ Transport Agency says slips and flooding are continuing to affect state highways in the Coromandel and road users should expect delays and avoid non-essential travel.
