Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency says the Milford Road, SH94, could be closed all this week given the damage from torrential rain in the past 24 hours, forecast to continue today and tomorrow.

South Westland’s SH6 Waiho/Waiau bailey bridge, is getting new deck planks this month. The bridge was replaced last March, including a temporary driving surface, after a storm washed away most of the old bailey bridge.
The highway between Fox Glacier township and Haast in South Westland will reopen at 9.30am today after rain washed out a culvert at Thirsty Culvert (which runs over Stoney Creek) late yesterday, after 5pm.
