The NZ Transport Agency is advising that motorists can expect minor delays from around 7pm tonight as temporary traffic management will be in place on State Highway 1 from the bottom of Pukerua Bay Hill to just south of the Fisherman’s Table Restaurant at Paekakariki. The traffic management is needed to allow repair work on a nearby seawall and footpath, and to clear debris from the highway following the weekend’s storms.
The NZ Transport Agency warns all drivers on the West Coast and crossing the alpine passes after the school holiday break to be ready for wild, windy conditions with sleet and snow on the passes. There are small branches and wind-blown debris on many roads.
