Improved year-round access to a section of Auckland’s Waitemata Harbour is now possible after the official opening on Saturday (11 July) of a new footpath linked to New Zealand’s largest-ever roading project – the Waterview Connection.
Motorists are advised to drive with care and allow extra time when travelling around the Bay of Plenty during the school holidays as work on the Tauranga Eastern Link (TEL) and a major safety programme continues.
The NZ Transport Agency advises of the following closures for motorway improvements. Closures start at 9pm and finish at 5am, unless otherwise stated. Work delayed by bad weather will be completed at the next available date, prior to Friday, 17 July. Please note this Traffic Bulletin is updated every Friday.
The Transport Agency says the icy grip on Southland and Otago roads over the last three days shows no immediate signs of easing, and drivers need exercise extra caution when driving in these conditions.
