NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi advises of the following closures for motorway improvements. Work delayed by bad weather will be completed at the next available date, prior to Friday, 6 September 2024.
Motorists driving between Katikati and Tauranga are being encouraged to drive safely and consider others as they make their journeys along this section of State Highway 2.
Wellington drivers can expect lane closures on State Highway 1 near Churton Park tonight and tomorrow. Road crews will do urgent pavement repairs in the southbound slow lane to repair rutting and potholes.
Roading crews will be at Manawatū Bridge (Whirokino) on State Highway 1 for a week in September.
The work will begin on Monday 16 September and take place between 9am and 2.30pm daily.
UPDATE 9:00pm
NZTA can confirm that one lane southbound is now open on State Highway 1 between Bombay and Ramarama. A temporary 50 km/h speed restriction is in place along this section.
