Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is advising motorists that a red alert has been issued for the Auckland Harbour Bridge from 4am tomorrow morning (Saturday 30 September) until 8am tomorrow morning, with wind gusts expected to reach 90-100km/h.
A spate of wild weather has put the brakes on road rebuilding and resealing, as contractors have turned their attention to removing slips and ensuring a safe passage for road users across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty.
South and Mid-Canterbury road users will start to notice more road crews and busy work sites from early October as the highway maintenance programme kicks off for another summer season. Pre-reseal repairs are underway at present, one highway area at a time.
