The NZ Transport Agency advises the following closures will take place for motorway improvements and maintenance. Closures start at 9pm and finish at 5am, unless otherwise stated. Work delayed by bad weather will be completed on or before the contingency date.
The NZ Transport Agency has given the green light for a pedestrian bridge to be constructed over the Northwestern Motorway (SH16) near the Westgate shopping centre.
Crews worked around the clock last night to demolish a damaged span of the old Onewa Road bridge after a digger on a truck struck it yesterday morning. The NZ Transport Agency says because of the excellent work of the crews work is now complete ahead of schedule and all motorway lanes are open to traffic.
The NZ Transport Agency will close the southbound lanes of the Northern Motorway (SH1) between the Northcote Road off-ramp and Onewa Road on-ramp at 8pm this evening.
NZ Transport Agency acting regional manager Tommy Parker welcomed the first motorist onto the Hayr Road Bridge after an official ribbon cutting today. The bridge is the last of six bridges crossing the motorway to open on the SH20 Mt Roskill Extension project.
